Just in time for graduation month: No wonder Cute Newcomer chose to focus on show biz and push his studies to the back burner.

CN was kicked out of school because of lackluster grades.

The source of this scuttlebutt is a schoolmate, Showbiz Scion, who can be brutally honest.

FEATURED STORIES

SS claims CN had to move to another campus “with lower standards.” Whoa!

Seems SS inherited Fearless Mom’s straightforwardness.

PS’ Haughty Manager, however, got in the way, unleashing a mouthful that BI found hurtful, if not downright abusive.

HM questioned BI’s credentials and abilities. Disparaging BI was not the goal, HM said. “My job is to protect PS. I don’t want PS’ career to end up in the dumpster.”

The truth hurts, HM quipped.

Overprotective

Being picky can damage an artist’s career. Take the case of Promising Performer, who was to be paired with Famous Personality in a fledgling project.

PP’s handlers opted to play it safe. They were scared of offending the Big Bosses who abhor FP’s guts.

As luck would have it, the project hit the jackpot. PP missed out on a career-defining role. PP should fire this overprotective team.

Indecent proposal

Unlike that Demi Moore movie, this one took an ugly turn.

Married Celebrity caught the wandering eye of Wealthy Crook, a notorious hedonist.

At first, the flirtation was harmless and flaky MC enjoyed the attention. Then WC offered millions for one night. MC snapped it up!

Alas, MC’s Beleaguered Spouse soon got wind of the indiscretion. MC and BS ended up in Splitsville.

Fashion crimes

From the Inquirer tabloid Bandera:

Call the fashion police, quick!

Couturiers have placed Seasoned Actress on the blacklist.

SA takes too long to return gowns that she borrows from designer-friends. That is, if she bothers to send them back at all.

Worse case is Sexy Starlet, who has gone MIA (missing in action). SS dutifully returned borrowed clothes, but the items would be soiled and smelly— and with sweat stains!

Ew.

For those who missed last weekend’s TV gabfests (and why we are moved, if we are moved):

Manny Pacquiao on purchasing a $12-million, 3,000-square-meter mansion in Los Angeles that was formerly owned by hip-hop superstar Sean “P Diddy” Combs (previously reported as Jennifer Lopez’s): “Maganda… may privacy siya. I’m pretty sure na magugustuhan ng asawa ko.” (Si Mommy D kaya?)

Alex Gonzaga, asked if she and Kean Cipriano became a couple at one point: “Wala pong ganu’n. Nagkaroon pa nga po kami ng misunderstanding … pero naging okay na. Alam naming friends talaga kami.” (Again, again.)

Alex on sneaking out to watch Kean’s gigs: “Totoo ’yun, kasi kilig na kilig ako kapag kinikindatan niya ako. So kindat back naman ako.” (We get the picture. Next!)

Alex, asked if there’s something about her sister Toni’s fiancé, Paul Soriano, which she didn’t like: “Noong una kasi ’di niya nage-gets mga jokes ko…” (Kami rin.) Pero ngayon okay na kami. Siya pa ang nagjo-joke sa ’kin. Sobrang close na namin.” (Doesn’t mean he gets the jokes now.)

Paulo Avelino on rumors that he has two kids: “I have only one—Aki.” (Right. One is not two.)

Paulo, asked if he’s dating Jasmine Curtis-Smith: “We are friends… we have a movie coming out. It’s just … a casual dinner with friends and coworkers.” (Casual is not dating. Got it.)

Maja Salvador considers herself a newbie.

Paulo, asked if he and KC Concepcion had a relationship: “KC and I are friends and I’ll always be there for her … We have different priorities now.” (So, “there” is way out there.)

Paulo, told that he’s not answering the question: “Yes.” (‘Yun naman pala e.)

Maja Salvador, asked who among her contemporaries is her rival: “First time ko pa lang magka-lead role … Parang nag-uumpisa lang ako.” (We really, really need that show biz talk dictionary now.)

Sharon Cuneta, asked if she regretted leaving ABS-CBN: “I regret it because I felt like fish out of water … Whenever I saw an ABS-CBN van, ang sakit-sakit sa puso ko.” (There, there.)

Sharon on what she misses about her late mom, Elaine: “I miss being her baby … I didn’t have as much time with her as I thought I had … I wasn’t as close to her as I was with my dad … But I’ve realized that a lot of that was dad’s doing. ’Yung totoo, parang there was always competition.” (We probably don’t have to go there.)

Sharon on her relationship with KC: “There’s a lot of love … But it’s hard … We have similarities but we are so different, too. I raised her to be independent, and siguro nasobrahan nang konti ’yung pagiging independent niya … But I love her. She’s my daughter! My God! I would die for her.” (Take it easy.)
