Laurice Guillen is happy that she’s helming GMA 7’s opening salvo for 2015, “Second Chances,” the drama series topbilled by Raymart Santiago, Jennylyn Mercado and Camille Prats, because she believes everybody deserves a second chance. She shares, “The network wanted a Korean telenovela look for the story about two sisters who suffer a lot in life.”

Known to be a meticulous director, Guillen imposes discipline and professionalism on the set. Her last directorial job on TV was 2013’s “Akin Pa Rin Ang Bukas”—but, she was kept busy as an actress in “Carmela,” and later directed Star Cinema’s “Once Upon A Princess.”

Laurice herself doesn’t mind getting a second chance at love. What she truly misses is having great conversations with departed friends like Lino Brocka, Ishmael Bernal and Salvador Bernal.
