Frank’s memorable adventure

/ 12:15 AM April 05, 2014

JULIE and Frank Holz

Our BatanesPhoto Safari has attracted many adventurers, among them Frank Holz and his wife, Julie, both economists.

In an essay, Frank writes about the “kindred souls looking for adventure off the beaten track.”: “Mandy is an incorrigible leader undaunted by the whims of nature or man. With pristine islands, smiling people and breathtaking scenery, what else could one ask for?”

He goes on to share, “I had coffee with the gracious Butch Abad at his house overlooking the sea. Late afternoon in ‘Marlboro Country,’ we leaped in the joy of the moment, captured forever by cameras.”

Wounded ego

Frank rode a motorcycle down the hill—and tumbled down the road! Upon the advice of the three doctors in our group, we took him to Basco General Hospital, where he and Julie slept overnight. He recalled, “The only things wounded were my body and ego. They will heal in time—so I can join my favorite photographer’s adventures again!”
