Produced in Singapore, the series has already become an international hit in 18 Asian countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines. It’s a new addition to Myx TV’s already diverse Asian American entertainment programming.
Headlined by Filipino stars Karylle Tatlonghari and Christian Bautista, international celebrities Stephen Rahman-Hughes, Arthur Acuña, Rosemary Vandenbroucke, Juan Jackson, Oon Shu An add to a stellar ensemble. Also boosting the cast are internationally famous theatre actors, dancers and recording artists.
“The Kitchen Musical,” an original production of The Group Entertainment, is a genre-busting TV series that fuses fine food, great wines and a lot of sizzle in the musical world of a restaurant, The Avilon. At the center of every episode is Maddie (Karylle Tatlonghari), a talented graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, and a new sous chef upstart.
Born with a silver spoon in her mouth, Maddie struggles to stamp her creativity and individuality in a kitchen run by the brilliant, sarcastic and perfectionist executive chef, Alex Marcus (Stephen Rahman-Hughes).
Every episode features new dishes, desserts and recipes, and the all-star ensemble sings to familiar tunes as comedy, drama and romance brew. Follow Maddie as she cooks her way to the top with her invincible determination and spicy je ne sais quoi.
“’The Kitchen Musical’ perfectly complements our Myx TV line-up,” said Joy Bovatsek, head of programming for Myx TV. “As the first scripted series on the network, this one of a kind musical drama combines great food, song, and dance which are all quintessential for Asian and Asian American cultures.”
Myx TV is now serving 13 one-hour episodes of “The Kitchen Musical” on Mondays, 8/7c.
