Bianca gets to grow up after a breakup

SHE SAYS she’s not bitter about the breakup with fellow Kapuso Dennis.

“It felt like the whole world caved in on me. I just had to get away for a while,” actress Bianca King said of her decision to take a six-week break.

Aside from her highly publicized breakup with actor Dennis Trillo late last year, the 27-year-old actor also was stressed over her Canadian father’s recent quadruple heart bypass operation. King said she also had to cope with the sad news that her maternal grandmother had stage four colorectal cancer.

“I grew up in the six weeks I was away. I went through so much,” King told the Inquirer. “What was good about the vacation was that I got to travel on my own to six different foreign cities in six weeks. I slept at friends’ homes or checked into hotels.”

King said she also had the opportunity to write about what she went through. “Writing became my outlet. My work, which is all about life’s lessons, will be published in a magazine soon. It didn’t tackle [the cause of] the breakup head on, but if you would read between the lines, it was there.”

King added, “It feels good to be single again.”

She was open to dating and falling in love again. “I just don’t see any reason to shut the world out just because I’ve had a bad relationship. I’m ready to meet other people.”

King admitted she and Trillo were not talking. “The best way to cope with a love problem is to not dwell on it too much.”

She said working with Trillo again would depend on their home network, GMA7. “I’m not bitter or angry. I can work with anyone. However, my focus now is to create a comfortable working environment with my costar Rafael [Rosell],” said King, the lead star of the afternoon drama series “Maghihintay Pa Rin” which premiered yesterday (Monday, June 10) on GMA7.

ACTRESS as director on the set of one of her projects

King, along with coactors Rosell, Dion Ignacio and Julie Anne Lee, left for Singapore Monday to work on some important sequences for the show for a week.

“The series is dedicated to overseas Filipino workers all over the world,” she said. “I know that Pinoys abroad will be able to relate to the story.”

King said she accepted the offer of Revolver Studios’ Dondon Monteverde to work with him as a television commercial director when she came back from her recent vacation.

“I trained under director Erik Matti for over a month,” King said. “Directing is what I really want to do, although I promise to never leave acting. I… promised that I would continue my training as soon as I was done with my other commitments. I hope to direct my own TV commercials next year.”

“Maghihintay Pa Rin,” directed by Don Michael Perez, also features Ayen Munji-Laurel, JC Tiuseco, Tanya Gomez, among others.
