Jackie finds joy in serving

AQUINO (RIGHT). Grateful for all the blessings.

Jackie Aquino, Butz’s “little” girl, is all grown up. For the presidential cousin, bonding with the young, cancer-stricken patients at the East Avenue Medical Center’s Tahan-Tahanan is a heart-warming and humbling experience.

She’s a board member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), co-host of PTV-4’s talk show, “She Said, She Said,” endorser of Classique Herbs Corp.’s skin-essentials line, director of Vita Verde (a company that specializes in environmental products), preschool teacher, and actress. Despite her busy schedule, she, together with daughter Andrea, finds time to visit Tahan-Tahanan.

Now married to design consultant Mark Gavino, Jackie vividly remembers how she had volunteered to help out at the Cupertino School for Special Children.

At UP, she joined Ictus (In Christ Thrust for University Students), for which she taught out-of-school youths in Marikina and at Krus na Ligas.

Movies

When she followed in the show biz footsteps of her father and her cousin, Kris, Jackie was determined to do well. Among the movies she acted in: “Bb. Tsuperman,” “Moises Platon,” “Dahil Mahal Kita,” “Mulanay,” “Kristo,” “Teach Me to Love,” and the international films, “Circle of Fear” and “Days of the Wild Ones.”
