Karma recently caught up with Flamboyant Star. A highly-placed source told Rushes about FS, who was set to do a string of shows in an affluent far-away land.
Unknown to FS, the secret police made sure to watch the first show so no violations would be made against a very strict code of conduct.
Brazenly, maybe mindlessly, FS flirted with some gorgeous audience members and made not a few lewd jokes. The next day, the authorities asked FS to pack and leave, pronto. Rated D, as in deported!
Funny how this scuttlebutt was swept under the rug by FS’s powerful enablers.
Fashion crime
The same fate befell Colorful Celebrity, who was also slated to do shows in that same country.
A day prior to the series, CC went strolling. Nothing the matter with a little exercise; problem was, CC wore a flimsy top over short shorts.
Was CC clueless about the stringent dress code? Right there and then, the cops—no, not the fashion police—picked up CC. And it wasn’t for an impromptu tour, either. CC was taken straight to the airport and sent back home.
Missing
It was the talk of cyberspace, and fans were up in arms.
A TV news show aired a report about an awards show. All the winners were mentioned in the report, except for Popular Star.
An insider demanded: Why was that!? Have the station’s bosses not forgiven PS for jumping ship? Has PS incurred that many enemies in the old work place? Or is it network policy to ignore talents of rival studios?
Dreaded starlet
Heard on the Radyo Inquirer program “Kliq Showbiz” (dzIQ 990 AM, Monday to Friday, 3 to 5 p.m.):
Pretty Starlet thought she hit the jackpot by moving to a new studio. However, from the get-go, PS has been deemed unworthy of plum roles. Whenever producers see PS’ name on a list of prospective cast members for coming projects, they strike it out.
According to a spy, execs at the new studio have been warned by previous coworkers of PS’ lousy attitude. In spite of Influential Relative’s support, PS may take a while to erase her bad rep for tardiness and unprofessionalism.
Hate campaign
From the Inquirer tabloid Bandera:
After the loving comes the hate campaign. Glamorous Celeb unceremoniously broke up with Cute Colleague, who was devastated.
To comfort CC, Vociferous Friend started disparaging GC. Blinded by loyalty to CC, VF has accused GC of being uncouth, belligerent and incompetent.
Top of the Talk Shows
For those who missed last weekend’s TV gabfests (and why we are moved, if we are moved):
- James Yap on the Makati RTC junking Kris Aquino’s appeal, on behalf of son Bimby, for a permanent protection order against the PBA player: “’Yun talaga ang ipinaglalaban ko, lumaki si Bimby na kasama ako sa buhay niya as a father.” (So, good job?)
- Wally Bayola, after figuring in a motorcycle accident: “Wala naman seryosong nangyari… masaya ako na tuloy lang ang trabaho.” (Suwerte-suwerte lang.)
- Pauleen Luna on her relationship with Vic Sotto’s children: “Friends naman kami ever since. Walang ilangan.” (Okay.)
- Maxene Magalona on calling it quits with Renz Fernandez: “There comes a point in a relationship when you realize you’re better off as friends na lang.” (You’re wiser than many of your contemporaries.)
- Jodi Sta. Maria, asked if she’s ready to marry again: “Hindi ko pa naiisip ulit ’yung kasal, so puwedeng erase, erase muna ’yan? Hindi naman sa na-trauma [na ako]. Hindi pa lang siguro ako handa uli.” (Let’s ask again in a few months.)
- Jodi on keeping her relationship with Jolo Revilla private: “I’m just being selective about the things I will share with the public. Gusto kong magtira ng konti for us.” (Kahit marami.)
- Judy Ann Santos, asked about the secret of her solid marriage: “Patience and understanding… love and respect and ’yung pagkakataon na bagets lang kayo ng araw na ’to, date-date lang. (Ang kyut niyo, sa totoo lang.)
- Maja Salvador, asked about her relationship with Kim Chiu: “ ‘Di ko po masabing civil kasi ‘di pa kami nag-uusap.” (Di nga civil ’yan.)
- Maja, asked if she prays for reconciliation with Kim: “Every night.” (You could make the first move.)
- Piolo Pascual, asked if he’s affected by “Apoy sa Dagat” costars Angelica Panganiban and Diether Ocampo’s rift: “Parang wala naman, eh. I guess it’s been resolved.” (Stay out of it—that’s a good call.)
- Julia Montes on being linked to Enrique Gil: “Tingnan po natin kung ready na akong buksan ang aking puso!” (Guess who’ll be watching?)
- Janine Tugonon, asked if she and Jaypee Santos were back together: “Hindi. I’ve learned a lot. ‘Di kami magkagalit.” (So, yes?)
- Gretchen Barretto, asked if she’s ready to forgive: “Thank you very much! Ha-ha-ha!” (You’re welcome?)
