For Eddie Romero, a final fond farewell

Son Joey Romero (center, above) described the necrological service for his father, National Artist (for Film and Broadcast Arts) Eddie Romero, as“beautiful.” Niece Chanda Romero (second from left, above) agreed: “It was solemn.”

The late filmmaker’s wife Carolina Gonzalez (below) attended the rites, held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines on Sunday morning, before the funeral at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. Actors Gloria Diaz (right, above) and Phillip Salvador, singer Dulce, composer Ryan Cayabyab, producer Marichu Maceda and National Artists Bienvenido Lumbera (second from right, above) and Virgilio Almario (left) were there to say goodbye, too.
