New prize structure
A lot of people bet on the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office’s popular games. My helpers buy lotto tickets almost every day, and so do I. Recently, PCSO’s general manager, Atty. Joy Rojas II, announced changes in the games’ prize structure to address increasing demands for its health care-related projects, especially for Visayas and Mindanao.
Revenue
From the sales of lottery tickets, PCSO is raising the revenue for its social programs: As a consequence, the price per combination of the Lotto 6/42 and Mega Lotto games is now pegged at P20 (from P10 per ticket). The minimum jackpot prizes of Super Lotto 6/49 and Grand Lotto 6/55 remain unchanged.
The agency has also increased lotto agents’ commission from 5 to 7.5 percent to encourage entrepreneurs to open more lotto outlets and contribute to PCSO’s mission. Our less privileged countrymen stand to benefit substantially from these changes.
