CANNES—Filipino filmmaker Erik Matti’s “On the Job” has secured a North American distributor. Matti told the Inquirer that Well Go USA bought all North American rights to the film which was part of the Directors’ Fortnight. Last month, Matti sealed a distribution deal for France with Wild Side. Well Go president Doris Pfardrescher told Indie Wire that Matti’s film “reiterates that it is an exciting time for Filipino cinema.” Screen Daily’s Allan Hunter called it “a boisterous, pacy thriller inspired by true events.” Matti told the Inquirer that the film will have a US release in the fall.
