‘This Century’ hopes third time’s a charm with Manila fans

MANILA, Philippines — They say third time’s the charm. And after performing for their Filipino fans in a two-night gig in December, Arizona-based pop rock band This Century of Sound of Fire fame is back for a third.

The four-piece group’s guitarist Sean Silverman told INQUIRER.net in a recent interview that they were psyched to be back in a place they saw as an important fan base.

This Century is one of eight international bands gearing up for a rocking Saturday night at the Globe Circuit Events Ground in Makati City.

The day-long music and skate fest will also feature professional skateboarders Willy Santos and Riley Hawk.

“We just can’t help but keep on coming back to Manila. We want to build a following, a fan base here,” said Silverman.

This Century has just finished recording their new album titled Biography of a Heartbreak, a project which was “really important” to the group.

Silverman said that their band was grateful for their Filipino fans’ support from way back when they were just starting out in 2005.

“We are excited to be here a third time and to share with you our new record — something which is really important to us,” the guitarist told This Century’s fans.

“We’ll be playing some of our new songs but of course we’ll throw in some of our old songs in there as well. We are excited to be back,” said Silverman.
