Angel Locsin on winning her third best actress trophy for “One More Try,” the most recent of which was from the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (Famas) last Sunday: “I acted the way one should for the role. I gave what was required. Obviously, that was the reason I won best actress again. It (Famas recognition) truly overwhelmed me, considering that the organization is the oldest award-giving body in local show biz.”
Locsin earlier won top acting honors for the same role in the 29th PMPC Star Awards for Movies and the 44th Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Box Office Entertainment Awards 2013.
Meanwhile, best supporting actor Cesar Montano dedicated his Famas victory to his mom Emma. In an interview with the Inquirer, he said: “(Mom) worked hard to be able to raise me well. Her prayers helped me a lot. To all fellow winners, mabuhay kayo. To God be the glory.”
Montano, who was awarded for his portrayal of the revolutionary hero Andres Bonifacio in Mark Meily’s “El Presidente, shared his trophy with “all young filmmakers,” and made no mention of his estranged wife, actress Sunshine Cruz, or their three daughters. Marinel R. Cruz
