Filipino filmmaker Brillante Ma. Mendoza’s “Thy Womb” will be screened at the 11th Asian Film Festival, to be held in Reggio Emilia, Italy, from April 6 to 11. Mendoza told the Inquirer it wasn’t the first time for a movie he made to be featured in this fest.

He won best film for “Lola” in the competition four years ago, when it was still being held in Rome.

Organized by the Cineforum Robert Bresson and Fondazione Palazzo Magnani, this fest offers “a selection of the best films from several Far East countries,” according to its website.

On March 27 and 28, “Thy Womb” had successful screenings at the 18th Vilnius fest in Lithuania. Last year, it premiered at the Venice International Film Fest. Bayani San Diego Jr.
