Court denies James Yap’s HDO bid against Kris Aquino, son, says source

MANILA, Philippines—A family court in Makati has denied the hold departure order sought by basketball star James Yap against his former wife television host Kris Aquino and their five-year-old son, a source privy to the court case said Friday.

The source, who refused to be identified due to the gag order issued by the court, said Judge Liza Marie Picardal-Tecson made the decision after hearing Yap’s petition Friday morning.

Yap sought a hold departure order after learning that Aquino and their son would leave on Saturday for a vacation in Paris, France.

Both parties refused to issue a statement at the end of the hearing.
