Stars’ Holy Week reflections

SUZI Entrata-Abrera

Since Holy Week is just around the corner, I asked some celebs what they would reflect on during Semana Santa.

As pour moi, I will ponder upon how to let go and just let God. The Lord is the writer of my story so I’ll learn to trust HIS will and timing more, instead of wanting to have it my way. I will teach myself to befriend Pain, since it’s a frequent visitor in my heart—I might as well embrace it. Pain can sometimes be a better teacher than love. May we not lose sight of the real meaning of Lent.  Over and beyond the holiday break, let’s not forget to make HOLY DAYS our of Lent as well.

BOOTS ANSON-ROA:  As the song goes “Walang nabubuhay para sa sarili lamang.” We all have been so blessed with God’s love and compassion. How in turn can we be a blessing to others?

LANI MERCADO: Lord, in what other ways would You like me to serve You as a public servant? What should I still do as a mother, wife and sister to make a difference in my loved ones’ lives?

JOEY Generoso

JOEY GENEROSO: This Holy Week will be a time for me to think of self improvement—that I may become a more patient and open-minded person. It will also be a good time to be grateful to Him for all the blessings I’ve received the past year.

JED MADELA: This Holy Week, I’ll be going on a solo retreat to find quiet time and assess my life’s direction. I’ll look at how I have touched people’s lives through this gift of singing that the Lord has blessed me with and what direction I should take in the future.

JED MADELA

MARINA BENIPAYO: I have always thanked God for all the blessings as well as challenges that have come my way. This Holy Week, I shall reflect on how I can build on those blessings more. And of course, continue to thank God for giving me the opportunity of life with my sons Mark and Joshua and other loved ones.

ARNOLD CLAVIO: I will spoil my soul. I will talk to it and listen deeply to what it wants to say to me. For years, I have pampered my body and forgotten my soul. And Lent is the perfect moment to nourish it.

SUZI ENTRATA-ABRERA:  I will reflect on how I can be more patient and be more of a blessing to others.

BENJIE Paras

BENJIE PARAS: I will reflect on the significance of the Lord’s dying for our sins to save us and repent for whatever sins we have done.

TOMMY ABUEL: I will reflect on the things I’ve done and words I’ve said to people around me that may have upset or hurt them and ask for forgiveness first from God then from the people I’ve wronged and hope that they can find it in their hearts to forgive me.
