Singer-songwriter Jose Mari Chan on competing with foreign acts: “This is a free country—you can’t stop them from coming. The concert scenes in the United States and Europe are down because of the recession. They go where the money is—China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines. Taxes imposed on foreign artists and producers should be increased.”  Allan Policarpio
