Here are their answers:
Kakoy Legaspi of Bamboo (the solo artist) – Favorite album would be PUMP. It was the first cassette tape I saw of Aerosmith then and I was too young to understand why they had two tracks stacked up on top of each other for the cover. Janie’s got a gun of course grabbed me right away with the “balls-out” sound and vibe coupled with the fact that they were telling such a compelling story of incest and murder. Then you hear a ballad like “what it takes” and realize that Aerosmith is more than just good ‘ol rock and roll and they can actually get inside you and wrench your heart out, while still sounding cool and unapolegetically rock and roll.
Mico Ong of Fuseboxx (band) – One of my favorite Aerosmith albums is “permanent vacation”. Their music is just simply fun to listen to and the album sounded really great, using brass instruments in their songs are just well executed, it just fits well.. Every song has a story to tell. The tune of “Dude (looks like a lady)” really sticks to you, it’s a fun and catchy tune, and how could anyone think of a title like that? Another is “Rag Doll” the beat, the s
Nicole Sarmiento of Red Ninja (production outfit) – I remember a few years ago, I decided to listen to albums that were released during my year of birth. That’s when I came across Aerosmith’s Permanent Vacation which was released in August 1987. I instantly fell in love with “Dude Looks Like A Lady.” I don’t know why, maybe it was the lyrics or what but it was love at first listen? Also, “Rag Doll,” my favorite Aerosmith song is in the same album. I think it was the funk of the guitar parts of that album (although I know that most Aerosmith albums have that funk) that made me fall in love with it.
Bel Sayson of The Music Source (chain of music stores) – Fave album would be Pump. Janie’s Got A Gun is a powerful revenge track, while What It Takes is a cool song being played over a bar while drinking cold beer.
Gerry Diwa of Sound Weavers (recording studio) – PUMP. The extensive use of horns cinched it as my favorite Aerosmith album (“The Other Side”). Guitars on this album has that 70’s feel but the drums has that modern 80’s sound and the bass is totally upfront in the mix. Janie’s Got A Gun was a totally unique song and hinted at a new direction for the band, a modern songwriting style and feature of new sonic elements outside of the combo setup. And
