MANILA, Philippines—Richard S. Legaspi’s “Prima Bella” pulled out of the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival’s New Breed section and was replaced by “Instant Mommy,” Tess Rances, deputy festival director, told the INQUIRER.
“Instant Mommy” is Leo Abaya’s directorial debut and is produced by Chris Martinez, Joji Alonso and Kris Aquino.
Eugene Domingo will play the lead role of Bechay in the film, producer Alonso told the INQUIRER.
“‘Instant Mommy’ is written and directed by Abaya, based on my concept,” Martinez said.
A production designer, Abaya worked on acclaimed films like “Jose Rizal,” “Muro Ami” and “Kubrador,” Martinez said.
Controversial starlet Krista Miller was reportedly considered to play the lead role in “Prima Bella.”
