Sometimes, I feel like I’m watching a youth-oriented techie-magazine show. Networks now set aside considerable airtime for their news people to read predictable viewer reactions from social networking sites.

Surveys
“I also find it funny that primetime news shows feature ‘surveys,’ posing questions that aren’t well-thought-out.
During the height of the tsunami tragedy in Japan, the question went something like this: “Sa palagay n’yo ba, handa ang Pilipinas sa trahedyang tulad ng nangyari sa Japan?” —Which viewer would answer ‘yes?’”
Luda Carreon, consultant: “I found it rather silly the first time I came across ‘Teleradyo’ on dzMM. Suddenly, viewers were ‘watching’ a radio show! I have since changed my opinion, especially after I began tuning in to the late afternoon programs of Karen Davila and Vic Lima, and Anthony Taberna and Gerry Baja. I find the discussions quite useful in drawing out different perspectives on contentious issues”
