Gigi Miranda, student: “I’ve been following Coco Martin’s career since he was a struggling indie actor. Now that he acts in mainstream movies and on television, I’m happy that I get to see him more often.
“There’s one thing that annoys me about his dialogue delivery, however—his lisp. Can Coco do something about it?”
Other notes:
Lino Rivera, concerned parent: “While the MTRCB is now going after the overly provocative attires of TV personalities, can its counterpart guardians for radio look into the sexually charged discussions of ‘green-minded’ hosts? They’re acceptable only if they’re telecast late at night—when most impressionable kids are sleeping.”
Cathy Sunga, televiewer: “News about Martin Nievera hosting again on late-night TV is welcome. I hope he features guests from business and politics and doesn’t limit his program to show biz stars.”
Tom Medina Jr., multimedia artist: “Last Sunday, I stayed up late to watch the finals of the Himig Handog songwriting tilt. It was interesting to learn about what inspired the composers to write their songs.
“Kudos to Aiza Seguerra, whose soulful interpretation of the ballad she was tapped to sing was truly distinctive!”
Cathrina Margarejo, music enthusiast: “We hear never-ending OPM revivals on TV and radio. Music lovers enjoy listening to those mellow love songs.
“But, don’t we have new talents who can follow in their footsteps? The TV networks should find a way to discover a fresh pool of songwriters—before they’re discovered by foreigners!”
