Rushes picked up this intriguing tidbit on the Radyo Inquirer program “Kliq Showbiz” (dzIQ 990 AM, Monday to Friday, 3 to 5 p.m.).
Cute Rocker has unusual rituals before going onstage, according to spooked colleagues.
A source who had the misfortune of sharing CR’s dressing room reported that the guy would recite incomprehensible prayers before show time.
Is that in Latin or some other exotic language? Perhaps CR’s peers should enrol in classes on ecumenism and become more open to other faiths?
In any case, CR’s career is on an upswing. Chanting works?
Anger management
Speaking of celebs who desperately need life coaches: Controversial Personality has had not a few run-ins with equally cantankerous celebrities.
Recently, CP went ballistic yet again. Popular Star incurred the ire of CP, who ranted in public.
Funny thing was, CP sarcastically praised PS’ rivals. To think CP and PS are supposed to be on the same team. And if it was meant as a joke, the Big Bosses didn’t think it was funny.
CP has gone to anger-management classes, at the behest of BBs. Well, that worked.
Gay hunk strikes again
Careless whispers in the studio are getting louder: Handsome Hunk is now involved with Cute Gay.
The two reportedly met during a shoot. CG, you see, is a beauty and fashion industry insider. But unlike others in his profession, CG is not the swishy type; he’s a macho gay like HH—just like previous partner, Talented Entertainer, who bulked up (and had a nose job) during their time together.
Mistress of illusion
According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer tabloid Bandera, Media Maven never fails to turn off peers.
MM makes it appear that a slew of suitors are constantly knocking on her door. Alas, MM thinks she’s not only the prettiest, but also the richest celeb in her home studio.
A mole insists that MM lives in a world of illusions. MM didn’t pay the commission she promised a friend for helping sell a piece of property.
Turned out, the prime real estate was not MM’s; she had just pretended to be the owner.
Bubble boy
Model-singer-actor Sebastian Castro visited the Inquirer and Inquirer.Net on Wednesday.
Castro is making waves in cyberspace via his “Bubble” music video, which has scored over 117,000 hits and counting after only five days on YouTube. The 23-year-old bravely came out last week as a “proud gay man” in another YouTube confessional.
He had a freewheeling interview on Radyo Inquirer’s “Kliq Showbiz”—sharing intimate details about his life and loves to the delight of his “Bubbles” (his pet name for fans) who texted in questions during the program.
There’s not a drop of Filipino blood in Castro, a Peruvian-American, but he has learned a smattering of Filipino in his year-long stay in the country, said manager Dennis Sebastian.
Castro writes a blog, www.pilipinokuno. com, which features some of his paintings—yes, the talented Mr. Castro is a painter as well.
Top of Bandera
The top show biz news in Bandera this week (and why we are moved if we are moved):
(Shhhh … hear the sound of ratings shooting up?)
Derrick Monasterio nahihirapang pumili kina Barbie at Bea.
(Let’s wait until after his movie opens.)
(Oh man, way too much drama!)
(No one’s family is.)
(That’s not very nice.)
Sina Jodi Sta. Be Careful With My Heart” bilang respeto kanila Tito, Vic and Joey. (Loyalties like this come few and far between.)
Jackie Rice ayaw pang mag-asawa at mabuntis. (E di … ’wag!)
Sam naaksidente, motor tumaob (Careful … remember Jay Ilagan.)
Kris na-trauma, muntik nang malunod sa taping. (Was it an action scene?)
(Girl, turn around and walk away.)
(Many men are like this … this is nothing new.)
Teleserye nina Dingdong at LT sa GMA, taboo. (Define taboo.)
(Slow down on the spending. You’ll thank us for this.)
Marian winawasak ng mga bayarang reporter? (Sad. But proof is in order if they must be accused.)
(Oh girl … one day, we pray, you’ll figure all this out.)
(She’s playing the supportive girl on his arm quite well, huh?)
(Nice guy.)
Nadine: Wala pa kaming relasyon ni Derek! (Kung wala, e di wala!)
Coco suwerte sa teleserye, malas sa pelikula. (Stay there then!)
Mariel tuwang-tuwa pa raw: No baby! False alarm! (That sounds like a celebration. Guess you weren’t trying …)
May “video scandal” na kumakalat sa Internet; BB Gandanghari nakakadiri! (Oh good heavens, this is one we dare not watch …)
(Everything’s comin’ up roses for this girl.)
(Oh, no!)
(And please don’t tell us what that was. Ever.)
John Prats, Sam Milby nagkulong sa kotse: “Para nga kaming magdyowa, e!” (Uh, should we say very funny?)
(That can’t be his fault.)
(We agree, but how does that avert all the talk?)
