Philandering performer has abandoned his family
Here’s a post-Valentine tale from the Inquirer tabloid Bandera. Insiders were aghast to learn that Senior Performer strayed from the straight and narrow so late in the game. Apparently, SP’s children were grown up when he decided to take up with a younger girl.
In his youth, SP was able to shun groupies. Perhaps he merely wanted one “last tango in Paris”?
SP left his family during the recent holidays.
Health scare fuels reunion

Instead of quashing the rumor, Influential Insider fanned the flames of intrigues. Unfortunately, II seemed to have confirmed that Popular Star wants to bolt a rudderless company to return to old firm.
Turned out, PS wasn’t the least bit interested in reconciling with old colleagues. No love lost there.
But is Major Star also lukewarm about present coworkers? Did II hit the panic button too soon on this one as well?
Continental drift
In a show biz gathering, TV Personality was extra chummy with other guests and chatted the night away, never mind that one of them was a complete stranger.
TP inadvertently unleashed a bombshell and revealed that Political Rival was “incontinent.”
TP claimed PR had to wear adult diapers and should therefore be barred from public office. Then again, was the revelation really accidental?
Mutual hatred
Aggressive Insider, not known for being tactful, blabbed about Major Star’s work habits.
Unknown to AI, MS also had less-than-rosy memories of their collaboration. MS is certain that AI lacks the competence required by the highly competitive industry. AI is blissfully unaware of MS’s harsh assessment, however.
Bravo, Joanna!
Filipina singer-actor Joanna Ampil has earned rave reviews for her role as Grizabella in the European tour of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical “Cats.”
In the show’s first stop in Edinburgh, Scotland, Ampil was praised by critics. Backstagepass.biz said: “Ampil steals the show … her voice is incredible … her performance of ‘Memory,’ spine-tingling.”
Fleckingrecords.co.uk: “Biggest tearjerker of the night … every audience member could feel her sorrow.” M.stv.tv: “A torch singer moggie in the tragic mold of Edith Piaf.” Edinburghguide.com: “Wistful.”
Thomdibdin.co.uk related: “Ampil channels the show’s best-known number, producing a perfectly measured rendition that doesn’t so much pluck, as tear out the heartstrings.”
On Facebook, Ampil posted: “First two previews done … over 2,500 people in each show. I’d forgotten how that felt. Amazing!”
“Cats” goes onstage at the Edinburgh Playhouse until March 2. In the works is Ampil’s second CD under Viva Records.

For those who missed last weekend’s TV gabfests (and why we are moved, if we are moved):
Bianca King, asked if she’s ready to love again after breaking up with Dennis Trillo: “I’m always ready. Kung meron kang pagkakataon magmahal at mahalin, bakit mo naman tatanggihan?” (Whoa, slow down, girl.)
Kris Bernal, asked if suitor Carl Guevarra had a chance: “Kung pumayag ang mommy ko!” (Yes, Carl, court the mom if you like the girl.)
Rocco Nacino on his rumored relationship with Lovi Poe: “We’re good friends—it’s a very happy friendship.” (Indeed.)
Lovi, asked if Rocco inspired her: “We can draw inspiration from anything, not just love.” (That’s quite definitive.)
Cesar Montano, asked if he was afraid of Sunshine: “Obviously, takot … baka maging sunset ako, eh.” (Obviously not afraid enough.)
Vicky Belo on the real score between her and Hayden Kho: “When we’re together, minamalas talaga, eh! So sabi namin, huwag na tayong mag-together. Ano ba kami? ’Di ko alam!” (Oh, boy … er, oh, girl.)
Patrick Garcia, asked if he’s ready to settle down with his non-show biz girlfriend: “One day, I’ll settle down. As of now, we’re taking it slow … concentrating on our baby.” (You seem to have established a pattern here.) (Startalk, The Buzz)
