“JAZZ in Love”
Ten new documentaries will be screened today, from 1 to 9:30 p.m., at the Cine Adarna of the University of the Philippines Film Institute. Collectively dubbed “Real Life, Real Stories, New Generation,” the docus were made as part of a French-German-Filipino documentary workshop spearheaded by the Goethe Institut, the Film Development Council of the Philippines, Embassy of France, De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, UP Film Institute, Ateliers Varan and the Philippine Independent Filmmakers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (IFC). The docus included in the lineup are: Adjani Arumpac’s “War is a Tender Thing,” John Matthew Baguinon’s “Rochel,” Cedric Banjawan’s “Angat Dumagat: Rise of Dumagat,” Mae Caralde’s “Yanan,” Gabriela Krista Lluch Dalena’s “Tungkung Langit,” Grace Marie Lopez’s “AllStar,” Christa Grace M. Manikan’s “Bukang Liwayway,” Anna Isabelle Matutina’s “Magdalena,” Jan Tristan Pandy’s “Kat” and Baby Ruth Villarama’s “Jazz in Love.” The docus will take viewers on a journey to places near and far: from Aurora to Palawan, and Laguna to Lanao del Norte.
