MANILA, Philippines—Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero will skip Team PNoy’s sortie in Laguna on Thursday to spend Valentine’s Day with his girlfriend, actress Heart Evangelista.
Valentine’s Day, which is celebrated on February 14 of every year, also happens to be the actress’s birthday.
“Baka maging issue na naman bukas. Wala ako sa Laguna bukas dahil Valentine’s Day ok (It might be an issue again tomorrow. I’ll be gone in Laguna tomorrow because it’s Valentine’s Day)?” Escudero said over the phone on Wednesday.
“Kung yung iba walang Valentine’s (date) ako meron (If others have no Valentine’s date, I have),” he said, followed by a hearty laugh.
“Pasensya, Valentine’s Day bukas at birthday ni Heart bukas. Anong gagawin ko? (Pardon, tomorrow is Valentine’s Day and it’s Heart’s birthday. What can I do?” he added.
Escudero said he hopes to make his girlfriend happy though what is more important, he said, is that they are together during heart’s day.
“Dinner lang siguro kami with family nya birthday kasi nya. After that, hanap ng gimik (We’ll probably have dinner with her family because it’s her birthday. After that, we’ll find some gimmick),” he said.
Asked what would be his gift to Evangelista, Escudero said in jest, “Yung puso ko… (My heart).”
“Siguradong may bulaklak (For sure there will be flowers),” the senator added.
