Vina Morales
Vina Morales wasn’t shy to admit she was still praying she would someday tie the knot with the right man. “In God’s time,” she said, for her daughter Ceana’s sake more than anything.
“I hope it does happen,” she said at the recent press launch of the afternoon drama series “May Isang Pangarap.” Vina explained: “I need it in my life—for a bit of inspiration.”
Pointing at Carmina Villaroel’s wedding ring, Vina confessed that she envied her “May Isang Pangarap” costar. “She’s lucky to have a husband (Zoren Legaspi), someone to share everything with. I think everyone dreams of having that kind of relationship.”
Vina said it was about time to start thinking about herself. “There was a time when I didn’t think about dating or being serious with anyone [again]. I was just focused on my 3-year-old, whom I’m raising alone.”
During a visit to the Inquirer office in 2012, Vina said she was ready to love again. It had been three years after breaking up with Cedric Lee, Ceana’s father.
Hard to say
The singer-actress said she was dating, “but there’s nothing serious.”
She was exclusively dating someone for a while but that didn’t work out. “Now, I go out with guys, but not exclusively— I want to really know them first. Steady lang.”
Usually quiet about her relationships and personal life, Vina was cautious not to divulge more than she should. She explained, “It’s hard to say I’m serious about someone, and then it doesn’t last.”
Despite the hardships of being a single mom, Vina considers herself fortunate. “I would say that that I’m still lucky to have a child. I can’t describe the joy of having a child or compare it with anything, married or not.”
She continued: “I’m proud of my daughter. Ceana is a very active kid and she’s, doing very well in preschool.”
Vina added that financial support was never a problem between her and Cedric. “I never ask for anything; he just gives, and that’s fine.”
