MANILA, Philippines – Fish that can tear a cow apart in minutes, turtles that snap like alligators and cobras that use their tongues to sniff out prey – who knew deadly animals could get so weird? Get up close and smell the action on Discovery Kids with Steve Backshall, the wildlife expert who braves some of the planet’s deadliest animals in far-flung corners of the world in DEADLY ART.

Jealous that Steve gets to experience all the action? What about having a life-sized Alligator Snapping Turtle right in your backyard? Be creatively inspired as Steve challenges his motley crew of Deadly artists to recreate those killer moments with astounding animal art in DEADLY ART. Unconventional deadly animals deserve unconventional art methods, so get messy with power tools, sand, ice sculptures and more as the artists sketch, paint, saw and carve to create an impressive super-sized installation, as well as demonstrate how viewers can create their own DEADLY ART masterpieces at home.

In this season, Steve picks 25 of his favourite deadly animals, featuring one killer predator in each exciting episode of DEADLY ART. He stares death in the face to capture footage of these killer animals and sends them to his team of artists, who have to incorporate into their creative masterpieces three essential elements that make these animals deadly in their own right. In the final episode, Steve and his team end the series with a chomp by choosing which animals make it into the DEADLY ART gallery.

Kids at home may not be able to get their hands on power tools and massive materials like the Deadly artists can, but who says they’ll be missing out on all the fun?  In each episode of the 26-part series, viewers learn how to create their own Deadly art at home using readily-available materials. Use a CD case to create a snapping crocodile head, or learn how to draw a wolf using letters of the alphabet. The sky’s the limit in DEADLY ART!
