Commendable segment

MONSOD. Her portion features senatorial candidates. MARIANNE BERMUDEZ

Glenn Rezada, televiewer: “I’d like to commend the ‘Hiritan 2013’ segment of ‘Unang Hirit,’ where senatorial candidates are featured to answer questions from the inimitable Mareng Winnie Monsod. The segment gives viewers a chance to listen to the candidates’ views on issues and helps voters decide if they’ve got what it takes to become good lawmakers!”

Other notes:

Chad Pedrosa, TFC subscriber: “I chanced upon your item, ‘Has ‘Princess’ lost its focus?,’ last Jan. 11. Please let this serve as a countercommentary to address the statements about allegedly putting too much focus on Daniel Padilla.

“First, Padilla’s character, Gino, has actually been the underdog for the most part of the show. Gino was the one who was always subjected to pain and suffering, and was given poor lines and exposure.

Highlights

“From a neutral standpoint, it’s Enrique Gil’s character, Jao, who gets most of the highlights, with his struggle giving him the bulk of the exposure!

“Regardless of whether Mikay (Kathryn Bernardo) ends up with Gino or Jao, what’s important is for the production to deliver a tight and sensible conclusion to its narrative.”
