Love seems to be doing wonders to Erich Gonzales these days.
Show-biz scribes usually find the young actress stiff and half-hearted during interviews. But at a recent visit to the set of her coming fantasy-action TV series “Juan de la Cruz,” Erich showed more personality, and cracked jokes throughout her brief chat with select members of the entertainment press.

Yes, Erich said, her non-show biz boyfriend of almost two years was one of the biggest reasons for all the great things happening in her personal life and career at the moment.
“He has given me so much in my life,” Erich said.
There are rumors going around that the 22-year-old actress is dating someone much older than her. And they’re true, Erich admitted. “He’s 32. He’s 10 years older than me. We’ve been friends for about four years before we got in a relationship.”
On the big age gap between her and her boyfriend, she said: “I like it this way. I don’t think guys my age can handle me!”
Erich said the best thing about their relationship was that she could just be herself.
She continued in a charming Davaoeño accent: “We’re cool. More than lovers, we’re buddies and best friends. We can talk all day and we keep no secrets.”
The press couldn’t help but ask: “Are you sure he isn’t married?”
Not married
“Of course he’s not married!” Erich shrieked. “He’s single and ready to mingle—with me!”
Erich related that her boyfriend gifted her with a ring last year, but was quick to add that it was not for engagement.
Erich is hoping, however, that her current beau is indeed “the one” for her. “I’m praying that it’s him. I don’t think anyone wants to be in a relationship just to play games,” she said.
Meanwhile, Erich is reunited with actor Coco Martin in “Juan.” She plays Rosario, an aswang-slayer.
