MANILA, Philippines—The SM Mall of Asia Arena turned into one big house party last week as electronic dance supergroup Swedish House Mafia performed for their farewell tour before disbanding.
Celebrities and upscale partygoers young and old trooped to MOA Arena starting from Wednesday night up to Thursday early morning to witness the Manila leg of “One Last Tour” presented by Ovation Productions, the first and last concert of the trio in Manila. The band was said to be the “biggest headline DJ act in the world.”
In 2012, Swedish House Mafia was dubbed third biggest DJ act by Forbes, and was reportedly to be the first electronic act to headline Madison Garden.
At the night of the concert, only Axwell and Sebastian Ingrasso manned the event, as Steve Angello was reported to have suffered from food poisoning, as posted in his Twitter account.
It was a whole night of bumping and dancing to sledge hammer beats with video backdrop, colorful lasers and pyrotechnics.
Drinks were served for VIPs and Patron ticketholders.
The band played its top mixes including “Sweet Disposition,” Coldplay’s “Every Teardrop is A Waterfall,” “Miami 2 Ibiza,” “Greyhound,” and “Don’t You Worry Child.”
Their finale song, “Save the World,” got the energetic crowd singing along while jumping and dancing the night away.
