‘Brave’ wins best animated feature Globe

LOS ANGELES – “Brave,” Pixar’s 3D fairytale about a Scottish princess trying to rescue her mother from a spell cast by an evil witch, won the Golden Globe for best animated feature on Sunday.

“Brave” defeated fellow nominees “Frankenweenie,” “Hotel Transylvania,” “Rise of the Guardians” and “Wreck-It-Ralph.”

“2012 was an amazing year for animation,” director Mark Andrews said in accepting the award, giving a special shoutout to “Frankenweenie” director Tim Burton: “Tim, holy cow – been watching your movies forever!”
