Has ‘Princess’ lost its focus?

“PRINCESS AND I.” Is it sacrificing its viewability to please one actor’s fans? starmometer.com

Marilou Buena, TFC subscriber: “My family and I enjoy watching ‘Princess and I.’ I commend ABS-CBN’s writers for creating such a wonderful tale. But, while the start of its story had a strong impact, it now seems to focus on one person.

“Is the credibility of the story being sacrificed to please a certain group of fans? If the series is promoting Daniel Padilla, then he should just have a separate show. Don’t let a good teleserye go to waste.

“I’d also like to comment on how the love team of Kathryn Bernardo and Padilla is being promoted. Too much display of affection is unnecessary. They’re still young, and it isn’t appropriate.”

Other notes:

Lulu Dayao, observer: “‘Thy Womb’ has a simple tale. It has no pretension of delving into issues of culture and politics, nor does it present a thesis on human character. It tells its tale without long-drawn melodrama.

“The movie also made me proud of Filipinos’ exceptional talent and creativity. Whether Nora Aunor is proclaimed a National Artist or not, there’s no doubt that she is a national treasure!”
