MANILA, Philippines – Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. has offered to mediate between GMA 7 and actress Sarah Lahbati on the issue of the alleged breach of contract that Lahbati signed with the network.

“I’m saddened by what happened. I’m willing to become their go-between just so this problem would be solved as soon as possible,” said Revilla, who is Lahbati’s co-star in the latest fantasy-adventure series, “Indio,” produced by the Kapuso network.

On January 10, GMA Films president Annette Gozon-Abrogar filed a libel case against Lahbati at the Makati City prosecutor’s office.

In a statement sent to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Abrogar said that “instead of trial by publicity, the case will now be brought to the proper forum. Once the case is filed, the subjudice rule applies and parties who continue to talk about the issue in public can be held in contempt of court.”

Lahbati accused Abrogar and GMA Artist Center (GMAAC) head Arsi Baltazar of being involved in alleged “under-the-table deals” in relation to the management of the network’s other contract artists.
