As a Dollywood tradition, here are some choice quotes of celebrities we interviewed in the past year. Before embarking on new adventures in the biz this 2013, let me thank all the stars who trusted me with their stories in 2012.

VILMA SANTOS: Age doesn’t matter. What’s important is what you have done in your life that has positive effects on your family as you grow old gracefully.
NORA AUNOR: I miss singing. My biggest birthday wish is to do a concert and record an album. I owe that to my fans. As for my comeback in show biz, I’ve learned to be more cautious of people. In the past, I trusted too many people easily. Now I would like to keep some space for myself and not let everybody in.
CESAR MONTANO: I always want to think out of the box. I never want to be idle. I paint, sing, compose songs, act, direct, cook, garden, bake, dote on my kids and wife. Life is too short to miss out on anything. I maximize every moment on-or off-cam. I don’t want any experience to be half-baked. What’s the point of doing something if you don’t give it your all?
AGA MUHLACH (on his foray into politics): It’s my turn to give something back to the people who put me where I am now. I worked very hard for 28 years in show biz to build my name. I won’t let it all go to waste.
DEREK RAMSAY: When I’m in love, I’m a one-woman man. Actually, late bloomer ako. I had my first girlfriend at 18. It can get lonely being alone but my passion for sports keeps me occupied. I don’t think being single makes me more bankable as an actor because even when I’m in a relationship, I keep my work separate. I make sure to always deliver as an actor.

COCO MARTIN: When I was an OFW in Canada, I was very lonely and homesick; I missed my family. That’s why OFWs are close to my heart. When I perform for them abroad, I always tell them that I understand their plight and that I salute them.

EUGENE DOMINGO: Some young, significant stars asked me how I managed to do just one thing at a time and if love would enter the picture in my life. It made me think because I didn’t know how to explain the happiness and security (not financial) that I am enjoying right now. I believe everybody has a gift. All actors are hungry. But I feel it is my love of art, my freedom, passion, discipline and commitment that give me the feeling of fulfillment.
