My ‘predictions’ for 2013

One Direction will continue their winning ways. The boy band does what they do best and that is to serve as pop-idols for the pre-teens to teenagers. Another studio-release from them isn’t a far-fetched idea to say the least. Their immense popularity will only get bigger and bigger.

Psy’s popularity will reach its peak here in the Philippines. After his scheduled concert in February at the SM Mall Of Asia, fans will lose significant interest after finally seeing him perform live.

A resurgence of more local bands in the mainstream. There have been ramblings and talks that major label heads are quietly manuevering to sign new bands. Expect this to happen this year.

Dance-pop music will gain even more ground. Expect more artists to embrace this genre.

Taylor Swift will have another failed relationship. On the upside, she will have new material to write about.

Dr. Dre’s long awaited and repeatedly pushed back album titled: “Detox” will finally be released.

Snoop Lion might change his name back to Snoop Dogg, realizing this whole “reggae thing” wasn’t all that it was hyped up to be.

Zendee Rose Tenerefi’s debut album under Warner Music Philippines will be released to much fanfare and critical reception. Her naysayers will eat a generous serving of humble pie, realizing she is the real deal.

Lady Gaga will release a new album that will be far edgier, crazier, and more ridiculous than the last one. If that is even imaginable. Expect Lady Gaga to pull out every trick she has up her sleeve to outdo all her previous efforts. Fans will either be pleased with this or will be totally creeped out. What is the saying, too much of anything is a bad thing?

Eminem might revert back to his ‘Slim Shady’ persona, complete with bleached hair.
