Tribute to the Comedy King

Puppeeteer Wanlu, above, commissioned famous US-based craftsman Scott Land to make this Dolphy marionette.

“It took months of planning and brainstorming,” Wanlu said.

The special marionette was unveiled at the Cultural Center of the Philippines during the recent National Theater Festival. Apart from paying homage to the late Comedy King, Wanlu hopes the miniature Pidol will help “encourage young people to hone their talents in puppetry.”
