Mariner’s daughter, Marissa Oca, is spearheading the First International Seafarers’ Family Convention (ISFC) on Aug. 4 and 5 at the PICC Convention Center, with President Benigno S. Aquino III as keynote speaker.
ISFC aims to promote bonding among seafarers’ families and improve their quality of life.
The convention provides opportunities for both local families and their foreign counterparts. Participants will have the chance to meet and mingle with the maritime industry’s stakeholders and leaders.
Activities
Sessions for adults will discuss the family’s role in nation-building, spirituality and family values, and health and wellness. Those for the youth zero in on career-building, personality development, relationships, health and responsibility to family and society.
