“One year you’re costars, the next year you’re up against each other,” said comedienne Ai Ai de las Alas, who was originally a part of the Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at Si Ako” with Vic Sotto.
The film was supposed to be the follow-up to the comedy tandem’s “Enteng Ng Ina Mo,” the top grosser of last year’s fest. However, due to “technical and legal issues” relating to her contract with Star Cinema, Ai Ai had to back out, and do “Sisterakas” instead.
But despite their foiled reunion, Ai Ai maintained that there’s no bad blood between her and Bossing. “We talked about it. He understands the situation, and there are no hard feelings at all,” she told reporters at a recent press con.
“I told him, ‘Bossing, you know how I am. I’m a good soldier, and I’m just following orders,’” she added.
To the contrary, the 48-year-old comedienne said that her friendship with Vic is now stronger than ever. “He knows all about my secrets!” she said.
In a previous interview, Bossing said that he’s not closing his doors to the possibility of doing another film with Ai Ai.
“That would be great,” Ai Ai said. “If he asks me again, go! Alam niyo naman maka-Bossing ako!”
Meanwhile, reporters couldn’t resist asking Ai Ai about working with “Sisterakas” costar Vice Ganda, whom she had a spat with earlier this year. The two reportedly kissed and made up at ABS-CBN’s exec Cory Vidanes’ birthday party last May.
Was there any awkwardness on the set? “Hindi sa kaplastikan, but we’re really OK,” she said. “We chat about each other’s love life. Love, love, love all around!”
Ai Ai is currently in a romantic relationship with businessman and former basketball player Jed Salang, while Vice is rumored to be dating another cager.
Also, Ai Ai said that she and Vice’s brother were friends in high school. “I’ve been to their home and met his family,” she said. “That’s what I think about so I can also love him [Vice].”
Vice, who admitted he was a bit jittery about the idea of working with Ai Ai in the movie, said. “I can now look straight into her eyes without getting intimidated. It’s as if nothing had happened between us.”
“Sisteraka” also stars Kris Aquino. Directed by Wenn Deramas, the movie hits theaters on Dec. 25.
