Celebrity dumps pal for more popular friend

ZIA QUIZON

Industry Insider is aghast at Controversial Celebrity’s behavior.

II doesn’t think CC has real friends. “CC buys buddies with expensive gifts,” II points out.

Then again, CC will not think twice about dumping a pal who’s no longer useful—like Hapless Hanger-on.

CC and HH were once extra chummy. Then CC hooked up with more Popular Personality.

CC then pit HH against PP. In the end, HH was left out in the cold.

Is it because CC will now have more use for PP than HH, whose career is in limbo?

Currency

Old habits are really hard to break.

Scandalous Celebrity is allegedly back to old ways. SC is currently surrounded by a new team. Colleagues, however, are bothered by SC’s indiscretions.

According to a mole, SC would alert friends about upcoming deals to give them unfair advantage.

In return, of course, SC is showered with lavish gifts (in cash and in kind) by the same pals who expect to make a killing from said ventures.

Information as currency? SC says yes.

Last laugh

Television Personality was all set to win a prestigious prize.

Relying on family connections, Envious Colleague is said to have blocked TP’s award and managed to run away with it.

TP still got the last laugh in the end, though.

As luck would have it, TP eventually clinched the coveted honor that EC purportedly “stole” years ago.

According to a spy, TP is far more deserving than EC.

Insert laugh track here.

Lewd conduct

This happened years ago.

SARAH Geronimo

Guests on the set of a supposedly wholesome project were appalled to catch Popular Star in a rather compromising position with Sweet Lover.

Another Famous Colleague would engage in lewd acts with Sexy Starlet under the table, so to speak.

PS and SL have since parted ways.

However, PS is still inclined to romance colleagues.

As for FC, observers can only hope that advancing years have tamed his raging hormones.

Dog lover

Boob-tube Personality can be quite finicky about photographs that come out in the print media.

BP supposedly went ballistic upon seeing a family picture that was set to come out on the cover of a magazine ages ago.

BP demanded that the cover study be replaced pronto.

Why? In BP’s words: “It’s not flattering. My partner looks like a bulldog.” Arf!

Top of the Talk Shows

For those who missed last weekend’s TV gabfests (and why we are moved, if we are moved):

Sarah Lahbati on her relationship with Richard Gutierrez: “Masaya na kami na alam na ng mga tao. Para wala ng echos!” (Oo nga naman. )

Jinkee Pacquiao on her husband Sarangani Rep. (Careful that you don’t go broke while making friends.)

Judy Ann Santos on child star Ryzza Dizon: “Para talaga siyang manikang de-susi! Kapag pina-arte mo, aarte kahit inaantok na o pagod  … Nakakaaliw!” (Some other time in some other place … wouldn’t this be child abuse?)

Ryzza’s unforgettable Christmas: “’Di ko po malilimutan ’yung parang nakatingin lang po kami sa mga bata. Tapos wala po kaming bagong damit at bagong sapatos.” (Ah.)

Child star Jillian Ward on her alleged rivalry with Ryzza: “Wala po, para lang po siyang baby sister ko.” (Bless the children.)

Vic Sotto on her relationship with Pauleen Luna: “Wala naman kaming itinatago, eh. We just don’t talk about it para tahimik … No biggie, ’ika nga. Kung ano kami, ’yun na ’yun.” (True. Your relationship isn’t any of our business.)

Pauleen, asked if she’s looking forward to having kids: “Hindi pa siguro. Wala naman akong singsing, wala naman akong asawa.” (Oo nga naman!)

Andrew Wolff on placing first runner-up in Mr. World 2012: “Sana ma-realize ng mga tao ’yung capacity ko … I did this for the Filipinos, my family. Proudly Pinoy ako.” (His real name is probably Andres Lobo.)

James Yap on his son Bimby: “Marunong nang magpatawa, marunong nang magbiro … Nagugulat ako. Makulit!” (Kami, di nagugulat.)

Ryza Cenon on rumors that she’s a lesbian: “Paulit-ulit … Sa lahat ng nagsasabing tomboy ako, please, ’di po totoo ’yun. Babae po ako! Ha-ha-ha! Lalaki po ang hanap ko!” (Amen.)

Zia Quizon on being Dolphy and Zsa Zsa Padilla’s daughter: “Parang double-edged sword. On one hand, may pressure na maging magaling, either sa pag-arte or pagkanta. On the other hand, it’s also very good kasi mas napu-push ko ’yung sarili ko na mag-succeed at gumaling.” (Very objective assessment. Good for you.)

Zia on what she misses most about her father: “I miss his stories, I miss seeing him around the house … His energy was so positive … He was a good man.” (Indeed.)

Matteo Guidicelli, asked if he and ex-girlfriend Maja Salvador are back together: “I don’t see her, I don’t go out or whatever … I’m just happy that we’re friends.” (That’s a no.)

Vhong Navarro, asked if he wants to get married again: “Oo naman, siyempre … Ang akin lang huwag muna ngayon.” (Hmm, bukas kaya? Joke!)

Boy Abunda, asked who among the Barretto sisters he would like to be: “Si Gretchen … mayaman!”(That’s true, huh? Better rich than … ?)

Daniel Matsunaga, asked if he would date Melai Cantiveros: “Oo naman. For sure!” (Good answer.)

Angelica Panganiban on working with Dingdong Dantes, Zanjoe Marudo and Angel Locsin in “One More Try”: “Siyempre noong una nagkakapaan pa … Baka maingayan sila sa ’kin!” (Did you ask?)

Sarah Geronimo on people saying that a boyfriend is the only thing lacking in her life: “’Di naman ’yun ang makakapagkumpleto sa  buhay ko … Panalo na ako sa pagmamahal ng mga tao sa paligid ko, eh. I could not ask for more.” (If you put it that way. But never say never would be a wise stance.)
