Partying with the Quizons

BIRTHDAY boy Ronnie Quizon (second from right) with siblings (from left) Sahlee, Eric, Edgar, Zia, and Epy. Also in photo is Zsa Zsa Padilla (in white).

I immensely enjoyed bonding with the Quizon brood at the birthday dinner of Ronnie at Sogbu (12th Avenue cor Col. Bonny Serrano, Quezon City)—the homey resto of his brother Eric.

The place was adorned with black and white photos of Tito Dolphy and their clan. Ronnie’s  17-year-old  son with Eula Valdez, Miguel, was around. He’s quite a looker. I won’t be surprised if he joins showbiz soon.

Got to chat with Zia who came with mom, Zsa Zsa Padilla. She’s happy with her boyfriend, Christopher, who’s not from showbiz. “I like it that he’s not in the limelight,” she said. “It works better that way.”

So, no more chance for her admirers in the biz? “I guess they kinda get the vibe, and know that I’m taken already,” she quipped.

Vandolph and his cute son, Vito, wore identical outfits and so did his wife Jen and their daughter, Quira.

Epy told me he was proud to be a part of the  Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, “El Presidente.”

No doubt amid all the merrymaking that night, Tito Dolphy was there in spirit.

Baby shower

What a delightful Sunday afternoon I had at the baby shower of Amy Perez at Eastwood Excelsior in Quezon City. She’s due to give birth to her third son, Isaiah Joaquin, on Dec. 22.

Spotted at the party were Grace Lee, Zsa Zsa, Tintin Babao, Agot Isidro, Rita Avila, Angelika de la Cruz, Tita Boots Anson-Roa, Chiqui Roa-Puno, Shalala, Rap Fernandez, Direk GB Sampedro, Deo Endrinal, Biboy Arboleda and Mr Fu.

Amy’s 4-year-old son Kyle regaled the guests with his Michael Jackson dance moves.

Amy has already psyched Kyle about the coming of his baby brother. “I told him he would be a kuya soon,” she said. “So he should watch over Isaiah the way his Kuya Adi looks out for him. I don’t want him to feel jealous of the new baby. Adi is 15 and has no girlfriend yet but he has girl textmates which I strictly monitor.”

Amy is all set for her face-to-face encounter with the stork!

Still loveless

I finally met Grace Lee at Amy’s fete.  How’s her love life now?

“I have no suitors,” she sighed. “I don’t know if they’re wary because of the P-Noy [President Aquino] chapter in my life. But they shouldn’t be.”

Isn’t she tired of being asked about her past relationship with the President? “I’m used to it already,” she quipped. “It’s a standard question that always pops up.”

Does she always go for older men? “I’ve never dated younger guys,” she said. “But maybe now that I’m 30, I might give it a try.”

Go girl! Nobody’s too young or too old for love when the time is right.

New inspiration

I texted Derek Ramsay to ask him about his new inspiration, Alexa Amos.

His reply: “I will definitely let you know when it’s official already. So far, so good.”

They are both into Frisbee and have so much in common. Love can’t be too far behind.

I was touched to receive this text from Zoren Legaspi:  “Dolly, thank you for the write-up and promoting our wedding special. With your help, we trended worldwide and our special was a huge success.”

I should be the one to thank him for showing someone like me, who no longer believes in marriage, that it’s worth another try.
