VARGAS. Portrays Andres Bonifacio in historical drama.
Alfred Vargas, who played the Great Plebeian two years ago in Mario O’Hara’s “Ang Paglilitis ni Andres Bonifacio,” believes Andres Bonifacio should be on equal footing with our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal.
That experience inspired him to produce “Ang Supremo” with his brother, Patrick Michael. The film is helmed by Richard Somes, who directs Jiro Manio as Emilio Aguinaldo, Hermie Concepcion as Tandang Sora, Nica Nava as Gregoria de Jesus, Nicco Manalo as Emilio Jacinto, Alex Medina as Procopio Bonifacio, and Mon Confiado as Andres’ best friend, Macario Sakay.
“Ang Supremo” recounts the life of Bonifacio before the Katipunan, his relationship with De Jesus, and the battle he was involved with. It will premiere at SM Fairview on Nov. 30, the hero’s l49th birth anniversary.
