Regal Entertainment Inc. has warned the public that its official X (formerly Twitter) account has been compromised and is currently under unauthorized access.
In a Facebook statement on Monday, Sept. 26, the film production and distribution company said any activities coming from the account, @Regalfilms, during this period are not authorized by or affiliated with Regal Entertainment Inc.
“We strongly urge everyone to disregard any content, messages, or links posted through the compromised account and refrain from providing any personal or account information,” read the statement.
As a temporary measure, Regal Entertainment asked the public to follow its new official X account, @RegalFilmsPH, for verified announcements and updates.
“Our team is actively working to resolve the issue and regain access to @Regalfilms,” the company said.

Regal Entertainment apologized for any confusion or inconvenience caused by the incident and urged the public to remain vigilant while it works to restore access to the account.
“Please help us spread the word and follow @RegalFilmsPH for official updates,” concluded the statement.
Founded by the late Lily Monteverde in 1962, Regal Entertainment is one of the largest film studios in the Philippines, along with Star Cinema, GMA Pictures, and Viva Films.
It is known as the company behind the iconic, long-running horror anthology movie franchise “Shake, Rattle & Roll” and the critically acclaimed drama series “Mano Po.”
Regal Entertainment’s latest movie slate includes “Saving Cherry” starring Barbie Forteza, “Project Baby” starring Sue Ramirez and Rico Blanco, and “Almost Us” starring Fyang Smith and JM Ibarra.
The company’s upcoming releases include “Haunted Carnival,” their horror entry for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), the romantic movie “Bat Di Na Lang Tayo,” and the comedy-drama “One For The Road.” /edv
