Dingdong Dantes, Coco Martin meet for upcoming Aktor PH project
Primetime rivals Dingdong Dantes and Coco Martin set aside network competition as they met over the weekend to discuss an upcoming project for AKTOR PH, the League of Filipino Actors.
Dantes gave a glimpse of their meeting through a post on Instagram on Sunday, July 19, saying their shared goal is to strengthen the Philippine entertainment industry.
“Magkaiba man ang programa, iisa lang ang layunin: pagmamahal at pagpapalakas ng ating industriya. Isang magandang Sunday meeting, may kasamang masayang kwentuhan at makabuluhang palitan ng mga ideya, para pag-usapan ang isa na namang proyektong ilulunsad ng AKTOR sa ilalim ng pamumuno ng ating kapwa AKTOR member na si Coco Martin. Soon,” Dantes wrote.

Martin, for his part, also posted photos from the meeting and expressed his admiration for the Kapuso actor.
“Sobra ang respeto ko sa taong ito. Maraming salamat, Kuya @dongdantes, sa walang sawang pagmamahal at dedikasyon mo sa ating industriya. Isa kang inspirasyon sa maraming tao dahil sa sipag, at malasakit mo. Hindi lang talento ang ipinapakita mo, kundi tunay na puso para sa industriyang mahal nating lahat,” Martin wrote on Instagram.
“Nandito lang ako sa likod mo at buong puso ang suporta ko sa lahat ng iyong ginagawa lalo na para sa @aktorph,” added the Kapamilya star.
In the comments section, Dantes thanked Martin for spearheading the group’s upcoming initiative.
“Maraming salamat din, brader, sa walang sawang pagmamahal mo sa ating industriya. Mapalad tayong lahat na may katulad mong laging nag-iisip ng mga bagong paraan para lalo pang mapatatag ang ating hanay. Bilib ako sa dedikasyon mo. Sobrang excited na ako sa programang ilulunsad mo para sa AKTOR. Mabuhay ka, Coco!” he replied.

The actors did not reveal more details about the project.
The meeting comes as Dantes and Martin currently headline competing primetime action dramas. Dantes stars in GMA Network’s “The Master Cutter,” where he plays a former scout ranger who lives a double life as a tailor by day and bounty hunter by night.
Martin, on the other hand, leads ABS-CBN’s “Sigabo” opposite real-life partner, Julia Montes. The action-drama, based on Martin’s original concept, follows Gabo, a former convict granted parole after eight years in prison.
Meanwhile, founded in May 2020, AKTOR PH is a non-profit organization that seeks to promote the welfare, professionalism, and rights of Filipino actors across film, television, theater, and digital platforms.
Dantes serves as the organization’s chairman, singer-actress Agot Isidro its Vice Chairman, and actress Iza Calzado its president.
Other board members include Piolo Pascual, Cherry Pie Picache, Mylene Dizon, and Jasmine Curits Smith, among others. /edv
