Politicos just like beauties

1969 Miss Universe-turned-actress Gloria Diaz gives her thoughts on campaigning politicians. She says they are “not so different from beauty queens.”

Gloria explains: “If you’re a campaigning politician, you should be honest and sincere, especially when you’re in public. You have to be funny and wild. You have to attract attention. I was once in a campaign for my ex-husband when I noticed that the craziest and the wildest candidates were the most applauded. If you’re very serious and you promise reality, people are uninterested. They want you to promise the moon! Sometimes  Pinoys are so naïve.” Marinel R. Cruz
