Vivamax actress Mica Nicdao went viral on social media after her vehicle was towed by operatives of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) over a parking violation.

The incident was documented in a video uploaded by Gabriel Go, head of the MMDA Special Operations Group-Strike Force, showing agency personnel towing Nicdao’s yellow vehicle after it was parked on a sidewalk.

“Ibahin niyo ko! Kahit Vivamax pa, hindi umubra! Hatak kung hatak as long as may violation, the law applies to all,” Go wrote in the caption of his Facebook post.

In the video, Nicdao was wearing a pink polka dot pajama top and skin-toned cycling shorts as she faced Go on the side of the street while they watched the actress’ car being towed.

Nicdao explained that she came home from work around 5 a.m. and had to park her vehicle on the sidewalk in front of her house.

“Opo, I understand that, pero kung 5 a.m. kasi, alam niyo naman, bangketa ‘yan… ‘yung mga tao po naglalakad na sa kalsada, instead of on the sidewalk,” the MMDA official explained.

Nicdao then asked if a warning could still be given, saying, “Sana man lang po may warning.”

“We give five minutes of consideration to present yourself. Pero ‘yung warning po, we don’t need [to provide] because sidewalks are not for parking. Saka ano po, ito alternate route, so bawal po talaga,” Go pushed back.

The actress was seen appearing distressed during the conversation as the MMDA personnel proceeded with the towing operation.

Go later asked if Nicdao had someone who could accompany the driver to retrieve the vehicle.

“Meron naman, kaya lang abala kasi,” Nicdao replied.

“Wala po tayong magagawa, may violation talaga. The least I can offer, pwede nang sumama ‘yung driver niyo kung gusto niyo ngayon para hindi na siya mahirapan pumunta, dumaan ng Marikina. Then you can process the documents,” he said.

Nicdao later addressed the incident in her own Facebook post, where she still praised the MMDA official despite being apprehended.

“Malambing naman si Gabriel Go kaya di ko na inaway,” the actress wrote.

Inquirer Entertainment also asked Nicdao and VMX for a reaction and has yet to receive a response, as of this writing.
