Rere Madrid, Gilas player Kai Sotto pull surprise wedding in Cavite
Actress-model Rere Madrid and Gilas Pilipinas player Kai Sotto are now officially married after pulling a surprise garden wedding ceremony in Alfonso, Cavite.
A few of the celebrity couple’s close friends and family attended the intimate ceremony, held at the private garden restaurant and events place owned by Neri Naig and her husband, Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda, as seen on a video which the bride posted on her Instagram on Wednesday.

“Still feels unreal that we finally get to call this day ours,” Madrid said.
“First, we want to thank God for this wonderful blessing we experienced this year. Even though we went through challenges, misunderstandings, and people who tried to break what we had, we still chose to trust each other. Because of that, our relationship became even stronger, together with the love and support of our families,” she added.

The couple also thanked their parents and siblings for being part of their matrimonial journey. “Seeing our families become one is truly one of the best feelings in the world. Now, we’ll continue chasing our dreams together, hand in hand,” she further said.
Madrid, 26, was glowing in a simple white spaghetti-strap gown with flowy details, while Sotto, 24, was also in an all-white shirt and matching pants. The wedding was officiated by Alfonso Mayor Randy Salamat.
The events place was also transformed into a white wonderland with varying white blooms and floral details arranged by Gideon Hermosa.

It also captured Sotto breaking into a playful banter with Madrid. “Love is not just a feeling; it’s a —?” he asked Madrid, who appeared taken aback by the question. “Choice! Ikaw nagsabi nun sakin e, ano ba yan,” he finally finished.
The wedding was also added by Madrid’s brother Ruru Madrid and his girlfriend Bianca Umali, and Parokya ni Edgar which provided the entertainment at the reception. They were greeted with congratulatory messages from Sotto’s fellow athletes and celebrity friends, among them, Samantha Bernardo, Shuvee Etrata, Mavy Legaspi, and Ashley Ortega.
The couple was said to have started being in a relationship in 2024 after the two of them appeared together as dates at the 2024 GMA Gala.
