Vilma, Hilda sorely missed

/ 08:00 PM April 15, 2011

CHERRY DALMACIO, a housewife from Laguna, shares her thoughts about some shows on TV: “The attention of Bianca Gonzales on ABS-CBN’s ‘SNN,’ should be called in reference to how she pronounces some Filipino words. Viewers, especially the young, might get confused. Examples: Buntis-bhontes, hindi-hende, pagbabalik-phagbabalek. What’s wrong with her tongue? It seems fixated with the vowel ‘e.’

“Shalani Soledad on ‘Willing Willie’ lacks energy and bravado. She’s been doing the same thing for several months now. Her spiels are short and simple—why can’t she deliver them well?

“Also, I think the scriptwriters of ‘Mara Clara’ think people are so naive that Mara can hide as easily as she does. Can’t she text her parents, so they can come and rescue her? —Such a flimsy plot!

“Clara, the kontrabida, acts better than Mara, who’s dry and devoid of emotions. The same is true of her leading men. Diego Loyzaga looks awkward.

FEATURED STORIES

“Doing better are the series’ supporting actors—Gina Pareño, Mylene Dizon and Jhong Hilario.”

Edwin Domino, theater actor: “I miss seeing Vilma Santos on TV. Can’t she take some time off from her political duties and appear in an episode of ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’? And, where are the formidable likes of Lolita Rodriguez and Hilda Koronel? I’m sure I’m not the only one missing them!”
