Jun Ji-hyun, Ji Chang-wook-led ‘Colony’ to be screened in PH
“Colony,” a zombie film starring South Korean superstars Jun Ji-hyun and Ji Chang-wook, is heading to Philippine cinemas on May 27.
Local distributors Pioneer Films and Viewers’ Choice Philippines announced on Facebook that “Colony” will be among the stops on its international screening.
“A biotechnology conference spirals into chaos when a mutating virus triggers a facility lockdown — and the infected begin to evolve,” a logline reads.
“Colony” is directed by Yeon Sang-ho, best known for his work in the 2016 zombie film “Train to Busan,” which was a global hit in cinemas for its poignant storytelling of familial bonds in peril amid a traumatic zombie apocalypse.
What makes the film significant is that it marks Jun’s return to the big screen after an 11-year break. In a press conference, the actress said she has long been a fan of Yeon’s work, which is why she had no qualms about joining the project.
“It feels exciting to be back in a theater with a movie… I’ve been a genuine fan of the director’s work for a long time, so getting to be part of his world was a no-brainer,” she said via a The Korea Herald report. /ra
