MANILA, Philippines—Award-winning actor Baron Geisler was arrested Friday night due to alleged violent behavior against a neighbor, radio reports said early Saturday.

At around 7 p.m. Friday, the allegedly drunk Geisler barged into a variety store owned by his neighbor identified as Raymond Dela Rosa.

Dela Rosa was reportedly watching television with his wife and their three-year-old child. The actor reportedly got some bread from a container in the store, didn’t eat them but instead threw them on the ground.

Dela Rosa scolded Geisler, who reacted violently by smashing a monobloc chair against the store’s screen door.  He went on punching Dela Rosa.

The confrontation allegedly traumatized Dela Rosa’s child.

Dela Rosa and Geisler are immediate neighbors in a row of apartment houses on Marlboro Street, Barangay East Fairview in Quezon City.

Geisler was later charged with malicious mischief, physical assault and child abuse at police station 5 in Fairview.

Geisler spent the night in the said precinct and was reportedly seen awake already as of 9 a.m. though he didn’t give any statement to the media.

Radio reports said other inmates treated Geisler like a “mayor” (leader).

Early last year, Geisler voluntarily underwent six months of rehabilitation for his alcoholism.
