Baring in movie made Andi Eigenmann cry

ANDI Eigenmann

Andi Eigenmann said she cried “almost everyday” while doing “A Secret Affair”—a movie where she played her most difficult role so far.

“There were times I wanted to give up,” Andi told the Philippine Daily Inquirer in a recent interview.

Her role required her to bare her skin. “I showed the whole of my back. It was by far the most difficult thing I had done [on cam].”

She continued: “I’m just lucky that the people behind this film were very patient with me.”

In the Nuel Naval film, Andi plays Sam, who has a secret affair with Anton (Derek Ramsay), who is engaged to be married to her best friend Rafi (Anne Curtis).

“I was actually afraid to do well; people might take it the wrong way,” Andi said. At 22, Andi has a daughter, Adrianna Gabrielle, who turns 1 on Nov. 23.

Second choice

Andi is happy about the positive feedback she has received from fellow actors and people who have seen the film. Some have even said that Andi was the “second but better choice.” The role was first offered to KC Concepcion.

“I just think maybe I was meant to do it,” Andi said. “And KC is probably  meant to do something else.”

She is thankful that Viva Films was willing to “tweak the script a bit” when she came on board. “I guess they realized that the first script didn’t suit me, at this age.”

Not like Sam

Sam, her character, is different from her real self, Andi said.  “Sam says and does things that I wouldn’t do. I may speak my mind, but the way Sam talks, and what she talks about … we are very different.”

Jaclyn Jose, Andi’s mom and also a cast member, was confident that her daughter could take on the role.

“I trust her as an actress,”  Jaclyn said. “She’s intelligent, and I know what she’s capable of. She cried after she did her bed scenes. I promised we’d make sure that the scenes would be edited carefully and that she shouldn’t worry too much.”

Andi said she always sought her mom’s advice to make sure she’s on the right track.

Jaclyn proudly said: “I don’t have much more to teach her. She’s already good. She impressed me with how she handled delicate scenes. As a more experienced actor, I just tell her what I like and don’t like.”

Andi was first seen in the comedy flick “Mamarazzi” in 2010. This was followed by “Shake, Rattle and Roll XII” (2010) and “Pridyider” in September 2012.

“A Secret Affair,” which also features Joel Torre, Jackie Lou Blanco, Johnny Revilla, Shy Carlos and IC Mendoza, is now showing in theaters nationwide.
