Gian Magdangal, Lara Maigue welcome first child
Four months after tying the knot, Gian Magdangal and Lara Maigue are officially a family of three after welcoming their first child.
Magdangal and Maigue announced the birth of their baby son Mario in a joint Instagram post on Saturday, Feb. 21, while sharing photos of their son sleeping at the hospital.
“Looks like someone was too excited to meet us. After performing on Feb 13, I unknowingly spent Valentine’s Day already in labor… and by Feb 15 at 6:35 p.m., our little Mario arrived safely,” she recalled.

The singer-songwriter said she was supposed to give birth in March, but she ended up delivering a day after Valentine’s Day, joking that her son knew she and Magdangal had shows lined up.
“We thought we had a few more weeks until March — but I think our baby boy knew Mommy and Daddy still had shows lined up. He chose his own perfect timing,” she said. “Best surprise of our lives. Welcome to the world, Mario Maigue Magdangal.”
The couple was congratulated in the comments by their followers and celebrity friends, including Carla Guevara Laforteza, Janine Berdin, Rita Daniela, Jolina Magdangal, Anji Salvacion, Iza Calzado, Geneva Cruz, Sofronio Vasquez, Gary Valenciano, and Zsa Zsa Padilla.
Magdangal and Maigue tied the knot in a church ceremony in Muntinlupa in October 2025 and announced they were expecting their first child two months later. /edv
